Unlock fishing, find fishing spots, respawn and get The Catch Polearm

The new Genshin Impact fishing update means it's not just about catching them now. In Genshin Impact 2.1, there are many fishing spots to look for, rebirth to consider, etc. As long as you have a fishing rod and some bait, you can start catching some fresh koi, puffer fish or brown white fish.

Of course, this fishing business has brought some good returns; once you unlock the Genshin Impact fishing function, you can exchange your catch for a free four-star polearm called "The Catch". You can also buy a fish pond for the Serenitea Pot.

If you need any help, here is everything we know about Genshin Impact's phishing feature. From how to unlock it to making bait and finding every fishing location in Teyvat.

Before you unlock the Genshin Impact fishing system, you need to unlock the Serenitea Pot function (and get some fun from the Genshin Impact Serenitea Pot blueprint when unlocking). This private realm feature can only be unlocked after reaching Adventure Level 35 and completing Chapter 3 of the Archon’s Exploration Chapter 1 "Rising Star Approaching".

If you meet all these requirements, you will find a new world mission called "population explosion" in the log. Just follow the story and complete the goal to permanently unlock the Genshin Impact fishing system.

First, you should activate the task navigation in the log (under the "World Tasks" tab). Your first stop is Mondstadt, where you will talk to Katheryne of Adventurer's Guild. Next, talk to the NPC outside the gate and head to the fishing pond north of Springvale (facing Mondstadt). You must catch your first fish here.

Next, head to the fishing spot north of Starfell Valley to catch "aquarium fish". You can identify this special type of fish by its jumping properties (normal fish just stay in the water). After completion, the only task left is to return to the position of the NPC outside Mondstadt and complete the dialogue. Congratulations, you have unlocked the Genshin Impact fishing function!

Once you master the Genshin Impact fishing function, it won't be too difficult. First, you need to be close to the fishing point. Accept the fishing action, then throw away your fishing line (better not on the fish, as this will scare them). You can change the direction by moving the camera. If your fishing line is too far away from the fish, you can simply pull it in and try again without being penalized.

If the fish is close enough to the bait, it will chew one or more times before biting. When this happens, you will see the words "You took a bite" and a fishing bar in the middle of the screen. This is where the real challenge begins.

There is a yellow box in the fishing bar. The box will constantly change its position, moving from left to right and then back. Your task is to apply enough pressure to stay in the yellow box until the small anchor icon below the fishing bar is fully charged. So it's simple; if the yellow box moves to the right, click the pressure button (the left mouse button of the PC player) to follow it. If it moves to the left, you will stop clicking the button to reduce the pressure on the line.

With all the new features, the community is scrambling to master every detail and all the final details of the information. Regarding the rebirth time of Genshin Impact fish, the current view is that it takes one day to replenish the inventory. However, there are many different reports on how this all works-some people swear that you can get more fish in advance, while others categorically say it won't work. As fish appear in the AM and PM cycles, and appear in different groups, it seems difficult for people to determine how this all works. If you really want more fish, there are a few things you can try, besides waiting and changing the clock, you can also hike to all the locations below or visit friends in the co-op.

After a few successful catches, you may find that you need more bait. Fortunately, you can easily make some extras. You already have a recipe for jam bait, which can be made at the crafting station.

All other bait recipes in Genshin Impact can be purchased at the Mondstadt Fishing Association, each can be exchanged for 3 Medaka fish (red small fish). The following is an overview of the materials you need:

Each region (Mondstadt, Liyue and Inazuma) has its own fisheries association. This is a list of their locations and the special items they offer:

Not all types of fish are native to all Teyvat. If you are fishing in Mondstadt, you will encounter the following types of fish:

As for carp, you will find the following types of fish:

Finally, you will find many fishing spots in Lightning. Some fish species are the same as Mondstadt and Liyue, while others are unique to the region:

You are ready to start your new fishing business at Genshin Impact. Don't forget your fake worms and fake flies, have fun!
